GENERAL
PROSPECTING TECHNIQUES
If
there is no visible activity prospecting or blind fishing may be the
go.
But its not just "chuck and chance" fly fishing. Blind fishing or
prospecting can be very productive and I'll show you how to read the
water and to make a logical selection of line, fly, presentation and
retrieve.
|

|
PROVEN
FLIES
Most flies catch more fisher-folk than fish. I'll introduce you to
flies that really do work and show you how best to
fish them. |

|
POLAROIDING
FOR TROUT
For
me polaroiding is one of the most rewarding forms of fly fishing. It
involves the process of sighting fish in streams and lakes with the aid
of
polaroid sunglasses and then working out and executing a when, where,
what
and how equation with the aim of enticing the sighted fish to take the
fly. I like it because it puts me in environments that I enjoy and it's
a real challenge of my stealth and cunning. I guess to the uninitiated
this all sounds pretty corny, well perhaps it is, but don't knock it
until you have tried it and had some success with it.
|

|
SORTING
OUT YOUR OWN GEAR
If you have your own
fly
rod and flies its always best to bring those along so that together we
can work through any glitches in how they are set up and how you use
them.
Often I see situations where fly-fishers are having difficulty either
getting
started with fly- fishing or with a particular outfit. The problem may
be that whilst your gear has been sold to you as a balanced outfit that
in fact its not balanced at all. I have a range of lines available for
you to trial over your own rod.
|

|
WIND
LANE FISHING
Wind lanes are
evidenced by calm slicks that form along the surface of the water. What
you can see is often just the tip of the iceberg and just out of sight
there can be vast quantities of feeding trout. Experience
the excitement of fishing to actively feeding trout in wind lanes on
Lake Jindabyne or Lake Eucumbene. |

|
LOCH
STYLE FLY FISHING
Loch style fly
fishing
is
fly-fishing over the lee side of a boat that is side onto the wind with
the wind at your back. The real skill however is in
knowing
when to employ loch style fly fishing techniques and how to go about
it. I'll show you the key
elements
of this exciting technique - there like building blocks and the more of
these basic building blocks you
have
in place the more success you will have.
|

|
CASTING
TUITION AND TROUBLE SHOOTING
Whilst I can be a little relaxed in
my own casting from time to time in most cases I can help you work out
casting difficulties. |

|
SAND
FLATS FISHING
FOR
WHITING BREAM & FLATHEAD
I grew up on the shores of Lake
Illawarra and still enjoy fishing it and other estuary systems. I also
have an extensive
knowledge of a number of Bass fisheries. I can show you
when, where and how to
fish extensive sand
flats, rocky bars and shore lines, feeder streams, reefs, drop offs,
channels and bass fisheries. |

|
G.
LOOMIS RODS AND BFR MODULAR REELS

have your own fly rod and flies
don't
worry. I have an extensive range of
quality fly fishing tackle and
flies
