A)

Push the bead onto the hook prior to placing the
hook in the vice.

Wind the thread over the first third of the hook
shank building up a thicker section just behind the eye of the hook.

Tie the thread off at the one third mark and
separate it from the hook.

Paint the thread with head cement and then slide
the bead forward over the thickened section and fix it into place
directly behind the eye of the hook.

Re-tie the thread in directly behind the bead and
wind it in touching turns to the bend of the hook.

Tie in up to three colours of marabou to form the
under tail.

B)

Tie in two badger hackles on each side of the
marabou tail deceiver style.

Take the thread 1/3 of the way along the hook shank
and tie in a collar of marabou. The tips of the marabou collar should
extend behind the fly about 1/3 of the way along the tail.

C)

Take the thread a further 1/3 of the way along the
hook shank and tie in a second collar of marabou overlapping about half
of the first marabou collar.

Tie in the hackle b y the butt directly behind the
eye of the hook.

D)
-
Starting directly behind the eye of the hook wind
the hackle backward in touching turns.

Tie the hackle off and use the thread to prostrate
the hackle slightly backward.

Build up a neat
head.
- Whip finish and varnish.
