A)
- Wind the thread in touching turns to the bend of the
hook.
- Tie in 3 to 5 long Pheasant tail fibres with the
tips forming a tail equal in length to the length of the
hook shank. Resist the temptation to make the tail too bulky and only
tie it in at the bend of the hook.

B)
Tie in a length of copper wire about 3/4 of the way up the hook shank. |

C)
- Tie the copper wire along the top of the hook shank all the way
to the bend of the hook.
- Take just one twist of the butt ends of the tail hackles around
the copper wire to form a loosely defined rope.

D)
- Take the thread 3/4 of the way along the hook shank toward the
eye of the hook.
- Wind the Pheasant tail fibers and copper wire rope forward
to the thread in touching turns.
- Trim the remaining butt ends of the hackle.

E)
- Tie in a bunch of pheasant tail fibers two thirds of the way
along the shank of the hook.
- If your going to cover the thorax with peacock herl
tie a couple of herl in now.

D)
Tie in about 6 or 8 church window fibers in the form of a tail
projecting in front of the hook. |

E)
- Pick the copper wire up and build up a neat thorax of copper
wire.
- Trim the copper wire.
- If your going to cover the thorax with peacock herl
form the herl into a rope around the thread and cover the thorax
with touching turns of herl rope.
- Tie the herl rope off and trim the butt ends of the herl.
- Stroke the tips of the church window fibers backward and
downward to represent the legs of the nymph.

F)
Pull the wing casing material over the top of the thorax and
tie if off just behind the eye of the hook.

G)
- Trim the butt ends of the thorax material.
- Build up a
neat head, whip finish and
trim the thread.
- Apply a coat of head cement along the top of the fly and the
thread head.
