A)
- Wind the thread in touching turns to the bend of
the hook.
- Tie in a length of copper wire
- dub on a body that is black on the back two thirds and red
just behind the bead.

- Wind the silver wire forming 4 or five uniform segments on the
body.

C)
- tie in a beard of golden pheasant tippets that extends at
around a 30 degree angle and beyond the bend of the hook a
distance equal to about 1/4 of the length of the hook.

D)
- Tie a heckle in just behind the beard.
- Take just one or two turns of the hackle, tie the hackle off
and trim the excess.

E)
- Hold the hackle fibres back with the fingers of your left
hand and tie a thread collar behind the bear that forces the
hackle tips to lay slightly backwards.

F)
- Whip finish the thread at the collar and varnish the collar
and the bead.
