A)
- Cut a length of zonker strip about one and a half time as long as
the hook.
- Pierce it with the point of the hook from the flesh side about half
the length of the hook from the end.
- Put the fly back in the vice and attach the thread in front of the
eyes.

B)
- Pull the zonker strip forward and under the fly so that the
pierced end rides up under the basic fly tail and tie the zonker
strip in front of the eyes of the fly.
- Build a neat head of thread, whip finish the thread and trim the
thread.

C)
- Mix a little 5 minute epoxy and apply a thin coat over the area in
front of the eyes.
- Rotate the fly whilst the epoxy goes off to ensure a uniform finish.
